New Haven Devlog #1

New Haven Devlog #1

Starting Notes

I'm super stoked to show off some super WIP footage of New Haven. It's rough now but I have every conceptual feature I wanted for the build in June implemented. This is super cool because now I get the next 30-40 days to polish everything, and get load/save working too, which is awesome I never though build 1 would have saving and loading.

Changes and Direction

The game has changed so much in two months, I was originally procedurally generating voxel environments purely for freedom purposes and expression of damage in the environment. But I'm an artist by trade and a way lesser programmer so it just ended up driving me mad not being able to manipulate generations the way I wanted to (This is not a fault with math but me lol XD ). So I dropped procedural gen with the environments and took the normal terrain approach and static level design for the hub town ( I still want to procedurally generate adventures away from the hub town using standard terrain and noise/height maps which is 1000x easier )

Public Release June 19

The game will be out to test June 19, my birthday, I'm 30, pretty much a fossil -_-

If you are reading this I can't wait to jam the probably buggy multiplayer build with everyone in July, I think it would be fun to have discord community discussions whilst in server together :D

I just started a Youtube channel and made my first upload, I suck at video editing, but I plan to get better at it so follow me if you like devlogs and stuff:
